Indian Slingshot™ was founded in 2021 and officially launched on March 2, 2022. Our mission is to make slingshot a safe, skill-based sport that’s accessible to everyone through high-quality materials at the lowest possible rates.
From Tradition to Modern Sport
A slingshot (also known as catapult or gulel) is a traditional tool that has evolved into a modern recreational and competitive sport. Its modern history began around 1918, when rubber was first used to make bands. While once used for hunting, today slingshots are recognized worldwide as a safe shooting sport for sport, recreation, fishing, and target shooting.
How a Slingshot Is Built
A typical slingshot consists of:
- A Y-shaped frame
- Attached Flat Band or Round Rubber Band
- A small pouch to hold the projectile
Why We Promote Slingshot as a Sport
At IndianSlingshot.com, we proudly promote slingshot as a game of skill, focus, and recreation—not for hunting. We are also working to build awareness in schools, colleges, and among students so that slingshot can be developed as a structured competitive sport from the grassroots level.
